The refrigeration sector is facing several challenges related to the push for electrification of RACHP systems, F-gas regulations, PFAS ban and the need to reduce both the energy need and operation costs of commercial and residential refrigeration appliances.

On June 9th 2023, the coordinator of the PaRaMetriC consortium was invited to participate to the XX European Conference on RACHP during a session dedicated to Green Cooling solutions. The event provided an opportunity to discuss with representatives from several organisations and associations including: United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), European Commission DG Clima, International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR), Association Française du Froid (AFF), AREA, ASERCOM, ASHRAE, EPEE, as well as representatives from the CoolUp programme and the Cool Coalition.

The possibility to achieve sub-ambient passive radiative cooling, recently demonstrated by the PaRaMetriC partners, raised considerable interest in the conference audience. The conference, held at the Politecnico di Milano, was also a huge participation success thanks to the excellent organization from Centro Studi Galileo, with 42 oral contributions, 220 participants, plus 50 connected remotely representing 38 different countries from 4 continents.

A representative from the PaRaMetriC consortium will attend the next event on June 12-13 2025 to disseminate the future updates on the project results!
